Who we are

This website, www.ohseresolved.co.za, is run by OHSE Resolved (Pty) Ltd, an occupational health and safety consultancy based in Johannesburg, South Africa. For the personal information described here we are the “responsible party” under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

Information you give us

When you complete an enquiry or quote form on this site we ask for your name, company, email address, phone number and your message. If you email, phone or WhatsApp us, we receive whatever you choose to send.

Information the free tools use

Our free safety checks, screeners, calculators and the safety culture self-assessment run in your own browser. The answers you enter are not sent to us and are not stored on our server. If you print or save a result, that copy stays with you.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that referred you. This is collected through server logs and through the cookies described below.

Why we use it

• To answer you. We use your enquiry details to reply, prepare a quotation and, if you become a client, deliver the service.
• To run and protect the website. Technical information helps us keep the site working, secure and free of spam.
• To understand what is useful. Visitor statistics show us which pages and tools people use, so we can improve them.
• To advertise our services. We use Google Ads to show our adverts, including to people who have visited this site before.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you sent us an enquiry.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. This site uses the following.

• Necessary cookies. These remember your cookie choice and keep the site working and secure. They do not track you.
• Google Analytics. Sets cookies such as _ga to count visitors and see which pages are used. We see statistics, not names.
• Google Ads. Sets cookies such as _gcl_au to measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries and to show our adverts to past visitors on Google and its partner sites.
• Google Tag Manager and Google Fonts. Tag Manager loads the two services above. Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Neither sets advertising cookies, but your browser does contact Google to fetch them.

How to opt out

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
• Turn off personalised advertising in your Google account at myadcenter.google.com.
• Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Who we share it with

Your information is seen by our own team and by service providers who help us run the business, only as far as they need it: our website hosting provider, our email provider, and Google for the analytics and advertising services described above. We will also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers, Google in particular, process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers that are bound by data protection laws or contractual terms offering protection similar to POPIA.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for our business records, and no longer than three years after our last contact with you, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Client records are kept for the periods that health and safety, tax and company law require.

How we protect it

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), is protected by a firewall and malware scanning, and is backed up. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your personal information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us:

• whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
• to correct or update it;
• to delete it, where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
• to stop using it for direct marketing, at any time.

Email info@ohseresolved.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za, enquiries@inforegulator.org.za, toll free 0800 017 160.

Other things to know

Children. This website is written for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Other websites. We link to other sites, including WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Facebook. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site.

Changes. We will update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
