ABOUT THIS COURSE

What this course covers

This free online course explains the physical agents most workplaces are exposed to: heat and cold, lighting, indoor air quality, hand-arm and whole-body vibration, and non-ionising radiation. For each one it covers how to recognise exposure, what the Physical Agents Regulations, 2024 expect, and the practical decisions a supervisor or health and safety representative has to make on the floor. It is written for supervisors, SHE representatives and anyone doing a physical agents risk assessment for the first time, and pairs with the free Physical Agents Risk Screener on this site. Sixteen modules with 32 activities lead to a 48-question knowledge check; you need at least 39 correct, including all 16 safety-critical answers, to print the certificate of completion. Awareness only, non-accredited: it does not replace occupational hygiene measurements by an approved inspection authority or a formal risk assessment.
